What's In A Date?
I wanted to write this yesterday but I just didn't have the time. Andre napped for the first time in days, so I napped too. Then I had to go to my brother's new house and check it out...very nice. I'm thoroughly jealous. I can only hope one day I can afford a house, but at this point the bank would die laughing if I applied for a mortgage.
Anyhoo, yesterday was April 20th. A not so good day in history. It was the 5 year anniversary of the Columbine school shootings. It's also Hitlar's birthday. Neither of which I realized until it was too late. Yesterday was also my three-year wedding anniversary. It wasn't until the hall was booked that I realized what day we picked. Fran thought it would be funny to have our anniversary be 4/20 (you pot smokers will get the reference), not that he smokes pot...anymore at least. :) So it was a little difficult to celebrate with all the news coverage of Columbine, all the specials and tributes and such. Not to mention we have no money, so even going out to dinner wasn't possible. But we did exchange cards and hope that Fran's parents will babysit on Saturday night so we can go out to our favorite restaurant in the city. Keep your fingers crossed.
I did get a night out though. Fran and I went to a friend's b-day party on Saturday, without the kids. We had to leave early because my parents didn't want to watch the baby all night, but it was nice to get out for a little while. I really needed it, especially since Andre has been such a pill lately. I have to say the soy formula is helping though, which is a good thing. And after buying the soy I realized that it's actually cheaper than the regular formula, which rocks. It's the special formula for babies who don't digest protein well that's so expensive...if the soy hadn't worked, we woulda had to move on to that.
But enough about that boring stuff. I really don't have anything all that exciting to add. I'm hoping to get back to my novel this weekend, and there's an anthology I want to write a story for, but I have a shitload of freelancing to catch up on. Sigh. Such is life.
Well, I best be off. I have a lot to do this afternoon. Till next time...
