Meghan Is Drowning In The Holiday Season

I know I said I'd write more often, but I picked the wrong season to make that promise. I swear I'll get more consistent once the holidays are over. Not that it's going all that terribly, just busy. We've got, what, 5 shopping days left? I did most of my shopping online this year, but still have a few things to get. It's my mission to get that finished up today. Traditionally I don't finish until the 24th, I plan on breaking with tradition this year. No more last-minute-Meghan. Ok, so 5 days left isn't exactly "early" but it's the best I can do. :)

The GSHW party went well, even though only 6 people showed up and I was a half hour late. Hey, wasn't my fault, blame the husband! If he had taken the U-turn when I said to, we would have been fine. But I digress. Anyhoo, we had some killer hibachi and went to a bar afterwards to just shoot the shit. I liked that it was small. It was nice and intimate. I think a good time was had by all. And we learned a little more about each other at the same time. The "if you were single who in the business would you sleep with?" question yielded interesting results. But I'm sworn to secrecy...sorry. :)

No more news on the writing front. I still haven't been able to get back into the swing of things. I recently joined a critique group through the GSHW and had my first story critiqued this past Sunday. They were honest, helpful, and didn't make me run home crying. :) For that I am thankful. But the story does need some work, so as soon as Christmas is over and done with, that's what I'll be doing. I have the Thursday and Friday after Christmas off, and I'm determined to get some writing done.

Oh yeah, speaking of stories, I'm thrilled that I've finally made it into print. I received my contributor's copy of SCARED NAKED magazine last week. My story "Jaded" appears in it and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. It's a beautiful zine and I'm proud to be in the first issue. So go get it! www.scarednakedmagazine.com. What, did you think you'd get away with reading this without a plug? heh.

Well, I spewed enough pointless dribble for today. Best of luck making it through the holidays to you all. If I don't post before Christmas, have a safe and happy holiday!
