What A Weekend!

I know, I know...it's not worth checking this blog often because I rarely update, but I really can't help it. Besides my computer being fried and having to use my dad's when it's available, I also have WAY too much going on. But you've heard it all before, so I'll just leave that at that.

Anyhoo, I actually got to go out both Saturday and Sunday night. Two nights in a row without the kids to do whatever I wanted. I tell ya, I had forgotten what that feels like! Saturday night Fran and I met up with my friends Rae and Renata at this club called the Axis Lounge. It's in Carlstat, over by the racetrack (for you NJers). It was a mellow night because of the holiday weekend, which doesn't bother me. I hate it when clubs are overcrowded. So I drank, and danced, and drank, and hung out with friends I hadn't seen in forever, and drank, and had a shit load of fun and...oh, did I mention I drank? heh I got pretty lit. Considering it's been awhile since I've been able to drink as much as I want (Kimi slept over the in-law's and Dre slept over my rents' house) and my meds pretty much make any alcohol I drink have double the effect, I was quite hammered. Luckily I didn't get stupid drunk, or sick drunk, and I didn't even have a hangover the next day. Which is a good thing because I had to work from 10:30 to 4.

After work on Sunday Fran and I headed into the city to see Siouxsie Sioux play at B.B. King's Bar and Grill. An excellent show and an excellent dinner. Too bad it was so damn expensive! But we had a great time. It was my first time seeing her live. She played some of the stuff she did with The Creatures and stuff she did with The Banshees, as well as her solo stuff. She was incredible. She's been doing this since the 70s and hasn't lost it at all. We met some really nice people and enjoyed hanging in the city. I really needed it.

Then today I didn't even have to go to work! The lobby was closed for the holiday, so there was no reason for me to go in. Feels good to get a day off. I usually work about 15 days in a row before I get a day off. I may only work 4 hours a day (6 1/2 to 8 on weekends) but it's still exhausting...especially when you're home all day with kids and freelancing late into the evening. But we need the money and I really do enjoy my job at the bank. The people I work with are really cool and the work is even enjoyable. Sure it can get stressful and I can get some real asshole customers, but so far it hasn't been so bad as to make me want to leave. That's new. Usually within a month I'm hating my job, this may be a good sign.

Been thinking a lot about going back to school again. Commerce will pay, but then I'd have to stay for at least 2 years after getting my degree. I'm not sure if I want my hands tied like that. I like the company, but you never know, ya know? But I think I might be able to get decent financial aid, and there's always student loans. My friend Rae goes to centenary (sp?), they have an accelerated Bachelor's program in business management. I have to look into it, but it sounds like something I could do. Since I already have about 54 credits at CCM, I'd be even further along. I just think it's time to get moving with this. I need that degree to advance in my career, and I need to advance in my career to get my family out of debt.

So...that's what's been going on lately. I'm in the middle of getting my computer back on track, so hopefully I'll have more opportunities to post soon. Until then...
