Thieves And Liars
So, the other day I went traipsing around my attic looking for a couple of old photo albums. I want to show a couple of friends from work that I wasn't always this way. I used to be skinny, cute, and scary. LOL! Didn't find the albums I was looking for, but I did find a couple of old yearbooks, an old journal, and a shoebox full of the tapes I listened to in high school. I spent the next couple of hours reading through the yearbooks and journal...laughing...and crying. Some good times, some bad.
I brought most of the tapes into my car so I could "flashback" to the good old days. The first one I popped in was Ministry's "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste." First song...THIEVES. Holy shit! I forgot how much I LOVE that tape...and that song especially. It's a great one to listen to when you're pissed off, or just in a really hyper mood. I've plucked out some of the more eloquent parts of the song for your persusal.
Hey thanks for nothing!
Morals in the dust
Two-faced bastards and syncophants
No trust
Thieves! liar!
Inside, outside, which side, you don’t know
My side, your side, their side, we don’t know
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of their mouth do you suppose that it came?
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of the grass is greener?
Inside, outside, which side, you don’t know
My side, your side, their side, we don’t know
You’re like a great big fucking gun,
Just waiting to get squeezed!
Breathe, forfeit erection!
Toxical injection
Geriatric fuck-fest
We still believe in lies
Damn! Just reading the lyrics gets my blood pumping! heh Another tape from the box that I've been listening to a lot in the last few days is the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Mother's Milk." Another awesome one. TASTE THE PAIN and HIGHER GROUND are classics. RHCP was my favorite band all through highschool. Metallica was my eigth grade hero...RHCP took over when I hit freshman year. Of course both bands leave much to be desired these days. You know what they say though, you can never go back. Not that I'd want to. The "good old days" were anything but good.
Anyhoo, in other news, Fran and I went to our second counseling session. It went well. We brought up the fact that he gets offended when I pull away from him. He mentioned that I'm not very affectionate. I agreed. I explained to her that as long as I am the one instigating the affection, things are fine. If someone, anyone, comes to me and hugs me, pats me on the back, pokes me, tried to kiss me on the cheek...whatever...as long as they're coming at me, I'll back away. Depending on who it is, I might even get "extra" defensive. I'm especially sensitive to people coming at me from behind. Call me crazy, but I'd think most people wouldn't find that very cool.
Well, I better run, it's past time to get out of here. Till next time....
