Happy New Year!
Well, another year bites the dust. I just hope that 2003 turns out to be less crazy than 2002. But I'm already starting out on a much better foot, so I actually have a wee bit of confidence. Ok, lemme fill you in.
First off, I started the new year out right, down in PA at Brian Keene's new years bash. Had me a blast. I got to see a bunch of friends I haven't hung out with in a long time, and got to meet some new ones. Much alcohol was consumed, many embarassing moments were displayed, and a shitload of fun was had by all. Thanks again Brian for having the Jersey crew down to your place! I'm sorry for unleashing Fran, he can be, how shall I say, a bit outta control. heh But he and Coop seemed to have bonded nicely while duct taping Roger to a chair. ;)
Ok, secondly, my writing career is also taking a turn for the better. I'm starting out the new year with my first interview! I was interviewed for Morris Health & Life for an article on Morris County horror and mystery writers. I even get an official photo shoot! heh They're coming to my place on January 20th to take a few pics for the article. Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked. This is just what I needed to get my ass back in gear. I pretty much abandoned my writing during the holidays. There was just too much shit going on. But now I feel a re-energized, motivated, and ready to get back to serious business. My novel is something I put on hold awhile ago, and I think it's time to get back to it. I made a lot of new years resolutions, one of them to finish my novel by this time next year. (The others being to drop those holiday pounds [not to mention the ones that came piling on before then...heh], make more time for doing the things I love [playing with my daughter, writing, painting], and getting off my ass to get some exercise.) :)
So yeah, I'm starting the new year off happy and full of positive thinking. Those of you who know me know how rare that is. I hope my readers are having similar experiences. I don't know where I heard it, but someone once said that whatever you spend January 1st doing, it sets the tone for the whole year. I hope that's true, for once. :)
