Just Another Manic Monday

Sorry, had an 80s relapse there for a second. Actually, for once I'm not manic on a Monday. Must be the meds! heh Anyhoo, time for another installment of Meghan's fucked up personality via emode.com. Then I'll get into my weekend.

Today's test: What kind of party legend are you? Those of you that attend the many FatrasCons I've had will have to let me know if you agree. Here's what emode had to say:

Casual

You thought you remembered to buy chips. But then again, perhaps you didn't. Hmmm, maybe your friends can pick some up on their way over. Just five or six bags should do! One thing's for sure: Parties are chill when you're in charge. In fact, it's this laid-back-all-invited-family-feel that makes you such a party legend!

People know they've got to fend for themselves when they're heading to your house — on the plus side, they can wear whatever they want and they're free to raid the pantry for soda or peanut butter and Fluff (especially if that's all you've got).

You're not uptight about the details so folks feel free to make your casa their casa. Your number one goal is to get the gang together and you do that in spades. Who doesn't want to hang out at your home when the general rule is that there are no rules? Of course, you might have to put your foot down when it comes to stains, slam-dancing, or teasing the dog with the last scraps from the food tray. But beyond that, anything goes. And will.

At the end of your affair, guests probably feel well-fed, welcome, and at ease. And if they won't leave before you promise to invite them back, well, all the better.

What do you think? I tend to agree. Though there isn't much I don't allow, including slam dancing. But that's because I can't stop my 6'1", 220 pound husband from doing anything he wants to do, and when he drinks, he likes to mosh. Again, those that have been to my parties know this. hehe

On to my weekend. Saw House of 1000 Corpses Saturday night. I was very impressed. Considering I have been hearing about this movie for years now and all the controversy that surrounded it, I figured it would let me down. I mean, it was impossible for it to live up to the hype, but it did NOT let me down whatsoever. I've always been a big Rob Zombie fan, so I couldn't wait to see his big screen debut. I thought the actors did a phenominal job, the amount of gore was perfect, and the cinematography brought me back to the good old days of horror, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Phantasm, but all with Rob Zombie flare. I don't want to get into too many details because I think you should all see for yourself. I just want to add that I love Tiny! He rocked! :) If you've seen it, feel free to email me with your opinions and we can discuss. If you haven't, go check it out soon!

Ok, time for the word of the day. This one is another one of my all time faves. Loony. Ok, ok, stop pointing at me, I know I am a loony, but that's not why I like it. Maybe it's the double o that I like so much, but somehow, you can't say loony without sort of smiling, and looking a bit loony yourself. Brings back memories of the old junkyard guy in Stand By Me, harassing Corey Feldman about his father. "He's a loony up in Tocus, loony, loony, loony." I loved that line. heh

It's taking forever to write this blog today. There's commotion outside my window that keeps distracting me. For the past hour or so there have been emergency vehicles and utility trucks buzzing around the parking lot of the building next door. I'm up on the third floor of a building behind plexiglass, so I can't hear anything and I can't quite see far enough to tell just what's going on. The emergency vehicles left a little while ago, but there are tow trucks and yellow town utility trucks hanging about. I think there is a car up on the grass next to the road, but I don't know if it was involved in something or is owned by someone on the scene. There's someone in a cherry picker by the telphone pole. Not that you care about any of this, but I find it too interesting to pay full attention to what I'm doing. Wonder what the hell is going on. I'm sure the busy body of the office will know and I'll find out soon enough.

Anyhoo, moving on. This is getting long so I'll finish up by telling you that I told my boss today about my depression and medication. Figured he deserved to know why I haven't been on the ball as of late. I don't think I've been doing a terrible job, but I will admit to handing a couple of things in late and taking a long time with a couple of projects. When it's hard to focus, it's hard to work. He seemed understanding and asked if there was anything he could do. Hopefully now that I'm getting back on track everything will be fine. Of course it's still the flaming pit of misery, but I'm obviously stuck here for awhile, so I have to make the best of it. Well, I've taken up enough of your time. Ciao for now!
