Sorry It's Been So Long
The holidays have always been hectic for me, but this year it's been absolutely insane. I haven't had time to breathe let alone post here. So, I apologize for being so boring. Ok, let's catch up...
Had a nice Christmas, though some of the joy and excitement was sucked out of me, working for TI and all. I haven't been this exhausted in a long time. But still, I got to spend time with my family and that was great. We did the traditional French thing...going to Fran's Aunt and Uncle's house for the HUGE Christmas Eve feast. My parents went with us this time as well. Besides the excellent food, I love hanging out with Fran's family. They're great people and we always have a good time. We had a champagne toast at midnight (I only had a half a glass...even the baby had to celebrate...hehehe) and opened presents. Kimi got a lot of cool stuff, as did Fran and I. We got home a little after 2 and Kimi had us up by 7. We opened our own presents, then went next door to my parents' house and opened presents with them. My sister and brother came over too. It was a lot of fun. We had our traditonal blueberry pancake breakfast, then pretty much vegged out. Kimi got FINDING NEMO and I got to see it for the first time. Cute movie, I did enjoy it...though I still like SHREK and MONSTERS INC. better. :)
I had to work at TI the day after Christmas, which sucked. I worked the 1 to 10 shift. The big sale started that day, so the store was crowded. The time went by pretty fast, but by the end of the night my feet felt like they were going to fall off. I pretty much slept through all of Saturday, recovering.
My plans for New Years are pretty mellow. Fran is working until 6 or so and I have to work at TI New Years Day at 10:30 am. Not that I can get drunk or anything, so I'm not worried about a hangover. So we're spending New Years at a friend's house. My hubby's band is going to play. Should be fun. Kimi is spending the night at Fran's parents' house, which gives us a much needed break.
Everything seems to be moving along with the pregnancy. I'm a little over 26 weeks now. 14 more to go. The baby is as active as ever. Both Fran and Kimi finally got to feel him. He's a bouncy little guy, doesn't seem to need much sleep. I just hope that changed before birth. I'll be putting the nursery together soon. We need to paint and put in new carpeting. I'm assuming my baby shower will be in Feb. some time. :)
I start the new nanny job on the 5th. I'll still be working at TI 2 days a week, for extra cash. I also applied for a new freelance position at this company that posts law jobs online. We'll see what happens. I'm going to need something after April. When the summer comes, I'll have Kimi home with me too, and I doubt the lady I'll be working for will let me bring the baby and Kimi along with me. I'm trying not to panic about the money situation. I've been dirt poor before and it didn't kill me. I always get by somehow. I just have to keep thinking that something will go my way soon. It's the only thing keeping me sane.
Well, that's enough for now. Sorry I had no real interesting news. Same old same old in Meghanland. Till next time...
