Jobs A Plenty

Ok not really, but I did get the gig at Treasure Island and some freelance work is starting to trickle in. Not to mention I have some other projects lined up here and there. So things aren't horrible for once. Of course that could change at any time, this is me we're talking about.

So tomorrow I start at TI. I woke up with a nasty cold (thank you Fran and Kimi) so retail should be an interesting experience. But it's money, and I need it.

I tried applying for unemployment insurance, on a whim. My dad thought that since I left my job to work for a company that ended up having no work I would be entitled. I would be, except I didn't leave to work FOR another company. I left to become self-employed and my main source of income would have come from work contracted from another company. Big difference. Once you're self-employed you screw yourself out of all sorts of things. Benefits, disability, unemployment, maternity leave...you name it. But I did actually apply and my old job has been notified. I know for a fact I won't get it, but I'm sure it annoys my old boss regardless. Ah well. Such is life. He should have sent me freelance work like I asked him. Heh.

Not much else going on. Dealt with sick husband and child. Now dealing with sick self, unable to take any worthwhile meds. The baby is just as rambunctious (sp?) as ever and now I'm playing the waiting game. Time is dragging. I can't believe I have another 5 months to wait. Sigh.

Well, this is getting boring, so I'm gonna jet for now. Maybe I'll have an interesting TI story for you tomorrow. Till next time....
