She Works Hard For The Money

Well, turns out the freelancing gig blew up in my face. I'm still going to do it, but there's a lot less work available than originally thought. So I had to go out and find a part-time job, which was NOT easy. Apparently someone with three years experience as an editor isn't qualified to be a FUCKING CASHIER. Sorry...it's been a rough couple of weeks. Me making no money since mid August has really put a damper on the family.

But I finally THINK I found something. I ended up applying for a job at Treasure Island...for those of you who have never heard of it, it's a store that sells mostly crafts, but has a very large Christmas department as well. The manager told me she'd call me because she had to check the schedule against my available hours. That was Sunday. Haven't heard from her yet, but I'm hopeful. So it's a part-time retail job that pays crap, but it's something. Sigh. At least I get a big discount. I'm kind of a craft nut. Stop snickering!

In other news, the big day is on Wednesday. I go in for my ultrasound appointment. There's no guarantee that they'll be able to tell if it's a boy or a girl, it all depends on the baby's position. But I'm hopeful. Hopefully the next time I post you all will know. Get those bets in!

I have my regular appointment on Thursday. I think I'm going to ask my doctor about getting my tubes tied. As much as I love kids, I couldn't afford another one in the near future, not to mention Fran really doesn't want any more kids. I think it's the best thing, considering I got pregnant on birth control. Not really trusting of that stuff anymore. It's very permanent, but I can't chance another "surprise." But who knows if my doc will even do it. It's a big controversy. I'm still young, I may change my mind, yada yada. Well, take a look at my bank statement, and it don't look like it's gonna get better any time soon. We'll see. When my aunt was 28 she had 2 children and asked to get her tubes tied, the doctor refused. I'll be 27 when I have this one.

Well, I guess that's enough rambling for now. I figured you needed an update. heh Till next time...
