Sorry, trying to get into the customer service spirit. Went over to Commerce Bank in Parsippany...the branch I'll be working in. I met the assistant manager and most of the people I'll be working with. They all seem very nice. He explained about the job and training and all that. I'm a little nervous since I've never worked at a bank before, but I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, so I think I'll be ok. I start training on June 7th. I have to find a babysitter for two weeks, since training starts at 3 and it's an hour away. Luckily they reimburse me for the mileage.

In other news, I got my new cell phone last night. :) It's really cool...so much better than the old one. We wanted camera phones, but they were just out of our budget. This one is neat though, has all sorts of cool stuff I'm still playing around with. You can download ringtones and they actually have Disturbed's "Down with the Sickness." Funny, since my short story "Claw" was inspired by that song. It'll cost me $1.99 to download it into my phone, but it may be worth it. They have the theme from Law & Order and the Muppet Show...both of which I think are fitting as well. heh

Went back to that woman I used to babysit for when I was pregnant tonight to watch all 3 kids so they could go out for a bit. I was only there about 2 hours, so it wasn't too bad. The little one is 5 months now...amazing how big they get so fast. When I left he was the same age Andre is now, and it seems like he grew a foot! Before I know it, Andre will be sitting up, eating solids, then crawling, walking, talking. I know I complain about the baby stage, but I really do treasure it. It doesn't last long, and as they say, little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems. I'm experiencing this first hand with Kimi. Sometimes she acts like a little adult, and then I realize, she'll be a teenager in just a few short years. God help me!

Anyhoo, I just wanted to give you an update. Not much else going on to talk about. Life is pretty tame right now. Don't worry, I'm sure when I officially start Commerce, I'll have plenty to rant about!

Good News

Well, I got the call today...I got the job at Commerce. So I'm very happy about that. I go in on Friday afternoon to meet my co-workers and get a tour. I'm sure we'll be setting up my training as well. The job STILL isn't in the bag though. After my training (which I do get paid for) I have to pass a written test. So I won't breathe easy until I ace the damn test! Keep your fingers crossed.

In other news, I actually got out of the house yesterday. I took the baby to Great Adventure with my friends. One of their mothers came too, with her grandson. I only got to go on 3 rides and I left earlier than everyone else, but I still had a good time. The baby was very well behaved, I was quite impressed. He tends to be really good when I have him out in public, he likes to make me look like a liar when I tell people he can be a handful during the day. :)

Speaking of baby, he's been sleeping very well lately (knock wood). Like last night, he slept from about 10:30 to 7. Pretty damn good for a 2 month old. In other baby news, Fran got him to laugh out loud the other day, and he's been doing it ever since. Finally the smiles and giggles mean something. I know I'm biased, but Andre has got to be the cutest baby ever, tied with his sister.

I finally got access to a cable modem, so life online is improving. I live in a duplex, my parents live on the other side. So my dad bought a wireless router and hooked me up to his cable modem. After working out a couple of bugs, I'm finally flying on the net. It makes freelancing go much quicker! This is a good thing, since apparently my freelancing job is safe for a while. Thank God for small blessings!

Well, that's it for the updates. American Idol is on (yes, I'm a big loser) and they're about to annouce the big winner!
